NORTHAMPTON OPENS TODAY Thirteen-Day Meeting Scheduled for Northern Ohio Track Indications of Successful Meeting. AKRON, Ohio, June 12. Thoroughbred racing for this season in northern Ohio, will be ushered in with the opening of the spring meeting of thirteen days at Northampton Park tomorrow. A card of eight races has been provided, featured with the Inaugural Handicap at one mile. Five were named and the contestants appear to be evenly matched. i All indications point to a successful meet- j ing. There are over 300 horses on the grounds and additional stables are arriving hourly from Detroit, Columbus and other points. There are twenty-four riders on the scene, a majority of them coming from Beulah Park. Jockeys F. Polk and S. Vail are expected to arrive tomorrow. Jockey J. Mayer was an arrival today from Latonia. All races will be started out of the Waite stall gate with W. C. Daly dispatching the fields. All of the officials were on the scene today and include: Steward representing the Ohio racing commission, William Dang-man; stewards of the meeting, William Dangman, H. D. Shepard, and Chester Stands; judges, E. Hileman, H. J. Kohl and E. W. Stribbling. H. J. Kohl will also serve as clerk of the I scales and E. Hileman as racing secretary.
