OMAHAS" GALA CARD TODAY Kings Handicap, Over One Mile and Seventy Yards, Feature Favored Angelita Throws Eider. OMAHA, Neb., June 12. The management of Ak-Sar-Ben will stage one of its biggest races Saturday when the Kings Handicap will be decided. In the past it has been customary to have the reigning king of Ak-Sar-Ben decorate the winner of the affair and no exception will be made this year. D. Em-mett Bradshaw, present monarch of the organization, will be cn hand to do the honors in the race, which will be at one mile and seventy yards. High Image, winner of his last two races here, is high weight for the affair. Bud Smith, a Nebraska-bred, which recently disappointed when favored, came through with a victory in the opening race at Ak-Sar-Ben field Friday when he took the measure of a large band of home-breds. Bidden by P; "Van Pelt, the eight-year-old gelding staged a strong stretch run to best Prince Peacock, while Colonel B. B. was third. The latter was again favored but again turned in a disappointing effort. Favorite players suffered another blow in the second race when the short priced Angelita stumbled at the start and unseated apprentice W. Root. The boy was not injured. Owitch was winner of the event, leading all the way to Jefeat Alma Mae, while Mereta was third. Shultz rode the winner. Residents of neighboring communities will again be guests of Ak-Sar-Ben field Monday when they will attend the races in the afternoon arid the show at night. Gov. Roy L. Cochran will accompany a delegation that will come from Lincoln, the state capital.
