r, FIVE WINNERS FOR COOPER! i Young Apprentice Rider in Brilliant Form at Agawam Track Dries Fast After Storm. AGAWAM, Mass., June 12 Dull overhead skies following on the heels of the heavy thunder and electrical storms that visited this vicinity overnight,- did not dampen the enthusiasm of the patrons, fully 5,000 being on hand to witness the various events. High winds that swept the course throughout the day, rapidly dried out the track proper and when the horses paraded for the opening race the track, though slow, was still far from heavy. Constant working of the harrows throughout the afternoon likewise helped to improve the going. Form followers had a field day when their choices won the majority of the events. Though lacking in any outstanding feature, the seventh at the mile and one-sixteenth distance proved the best. Jockey Arthur Cooper had a field day, bringing home his fourth winner in as many starts when he took this event, with Mrs. M. Eslicks Bright Bird. Taking the lead at the half-mile post and merely cantering along in front, Bright Bird won eased up three lengths from Doctors Gift, one that, after dropping back in the early stages, came with a rush to save second place, while Jim Brown, a distant trailer for a quarter mile, also finished with a belated rush to catch the fast tiring pacemaker, Stipulate, for third. a Jockey Arthur Cooper again stole the spot-light in the eighth race when he brought home Just Remember for M. J. Takera This made the lads fifth winner in a row, completing this feat by riding the winners of the last races. The youngster showed his best horsemanship in this race, clearly outriding jockey Phillips in the final strides to land his mounts nose home in front of Flat Rock, the public choice. The closeness of the finish forced the judges to call for the photograph before flashing Just Remem-bers number. Golden Play was third.
