LONE HAND, outrun for the first half mile, moved up on the outside entering the stretch and, closing with a rush, wore down GOOD OMEN in the last few strides. GOOD OMEN drew away to a good lead in the first quarter mile, was steadied along in front and, despite holding on willingly, was unable to withstand the bid of the winner. UNLAWFUL was unable to keep pace for the first half mile and closed with a rush through the stretch. JIM JOHN, away fast, dropped back, but came again through the closing eighth. MEROVECH saved ground in the stretch and tired in the drive. PARVA STELLA faltered in the final sixteenth. Scratched 27024Leros, 110; 21315 Miss Premier, 105. KAI HARRI, under restraint while following the pace, responded gamely when called upon in the stretch, wore down JOHNNY BANE and was going away at the end. JOHNNY BANE displayed the most early speed and held on in gamer fashion than usual, but was unable to keep pace when challenged. SCOTCH QUEEN, outpaced early, made up some ground through the last five-sixteenths. CASH BOOK, slow to get under way, moved up fast and faltered in the drive. RADIATOR made up some ground. GALLANT GAY, steadied along in back of the pace established by IDENTIFY, assumed a slight lead in the stretch, withstood determined opposition from GOOD GOODS approaching the eighth post and held him safe to the end. GOOD GOODS began moving up gradually in the last half, came through on the inside rearing the stretch, moved up boldly but was not good enough. ROMAN SOLDIER, on the outside and under steadying restraint, moved up gradually in the back stretch, made nis effort in the last quarter and, while closing some ground, never could reach the first two. BLACK GIFT moved up in game fashion nearing the far turn and despite hard urging was unable to improve his position thereafter. IDENTIFY had good speed in pacemaking, faltering in the last quarter. RAMUS moved up stoutly on the inside leaving the back stretch, was placed under punishment and just lasted to hold PEEDEEQUE. LEONARD WILSON, permitted to drop back off the pace, closed ground through the stretch when too late. ALARIC showed good early speed, then tired badly in the stretch run.
