UNEASY was bothered slightly at the start, bore out at the turn and finislied well under urging. YETIVE bore in at the start and bumped HIGHMOST, drew away into a brief lead, but faltered at the end. WHITE SAND was placed under pressure rounding the turn, but faltered badly. BROAD JOE showed a flash of early speed.. HIGHMOST was eliminated when bumped. Overweight Yetive, 2 pounds; White Sand, 2. AMAGANSETT favored the soft footing, showed speed and jumped well throughout, shook off opposition and drew away, winning with speed in reserve. ST. FRANCIS sprawled in the early running, made up ground slowly and finished well at the end. COLLATERAL followed the early pace under steady restraint, was bothered and, forced off his stride when THE IMMORTAL II. fell at the fifth fence, did not recover. JUNGLE DAWN showed a flash of early speed, but faltered under urging. THE IMMORTAL II. was racing stoutly when he fell at the fifth hurdle. THIRD RACE 5-8 MILE. Miss Star, Sept. 25, 1922 :57 2 107. The latter, a forward factor from the start, showed early speed and held on well. GOLDEN ERA raced forwardly all the way and outlasted HALF TIME at the finish. The latter could not outrun his opposition and was bearing out towards the end. COURT SCANDAL raced wide at the turn and was bearing out through the final eighth. ROCKWOOD had no mishaps. ITSIE BITSIE, away fast, was outrun, but finished resolutely. DISCOURSE made up some ground. VIGILANCE dropped back after the break. CHITTER raced evenly. The latter, away well but bumped after the break, improved his position steadily and finished fast through the stretch. CYCLE forced a fast early pace, shook off GOOD GAMBLE rounding the stretch turn and held on well. GOOD GAMBLE, fractious at the post, showed high speed, saved ground and had no mishaps. GOOD HARVEST, outrun in the early stages, made up ground steadily. OBSERVANT made a determined bid rounding the stretch turn, but quit badly under urging. SIXTH RACE 1 MILE. John P.
