CUSTOMIZED, under early restraint, closed with a rush in the stretch and just failed to get up. WINSOME LASS broke fast, showed cood early speed, saved ground in the stretch, but tired slightly near the end. COUNTESS BYE, outrun early, moved up steadily in the last quarter mile and finished gamely. RIA NARA raced evenly all the way. WATER PLAYER showed some early speed. DEE DEE W., rated close to the pace under slight restraint, took the lead on the lower turn and. while holding on well, could not withstand the winner. DONNAPEEP, away well, outran the field to the first turn, was under slight restraint when outrun by TUT TUT, came on again in the stretch and outlasted TOPWAY. TOPWAY was in a contending position throughout. TUT TUT fired badly in the last eighth. SCIMITAR, fractious at the gate, carried the assistant starters rope on his neck for the entire journey. MOVING CLOUDS, showing good early speed, quickly raced BLUE FOAM into the ground, drew away into a long lead and, while holding on well, could not resist the winner. HIDDEN LORE, far back early, moved up with a rush on the inside during the stretch run and was going gamely at the end. CABOTIN finished gamely on the outside. BLUE FOAM quit badly. ENRO tired.
