OFFICIALS AT ARLINGTONMRK Addition of E. A. Hileman as One of Patrol Judges Only Change in Ruling Family. Appointment of Emmett A. Hileman to act as patrol judge as well as paddock judge is the only change in the official family at Arlington Parks meeting opening June 29, announces Rojr Carruthers, secretary of the Arlington Park Jockey Club. Hileman will serve with William Doyle and William Davis at the patrol stations and thus round out the complement of three patrol judges required this year by the Illinois State Racing Commission. All three patrol judges are former jockeys who have established themselves in the ranks of American turf officialdom since hanging up their tack. Hileman and Doyle also will act as paddock judges, two being required because of the spaciousness of the Arlington saddling enclosure. Christopher J. FitzGerald, dean of American racing officials, will represent the Illinois commission in the stewards stand, and George Brown, Jr., who serves at Hialeah Park and all Maryland tracks, will be the associations man in the upper stand. The honorary stewards, one of whom will act with the professional stewards each day, are Admiral Cary T. Grayson, of Washington, D. C, A. B. Hancock, noted Kentucky breeder, and Major Louis A. Beard, director of the Whitney racing interests. Charles J. McLennan, son of the late Joseph McLennan and youngest racing secretary on a major track in America, again will combine that post with that of track handicapper. McLennan is racing secretary at Hialeah Park, Havre de Grace and Arlington Downs in Texas. Other officials who will return to Arlington Park are: Placing judges S. S. Brown and C. J. Fitzgerald, Jr.; starter Roy Dick-erson; timer W. Cunningham; clerk of scales C. J. FitzGerald, Jr.; entry clerk S. S. Brown; totalizator director Mort Shaw; state veterinarian Dr. G. B. McKil-lip ; track physicians Drs. Peter J. Peel and Norbert Leckband. 4
