1 LONG BRANCH TURF NOTES I $ John Bosley, Jr., who has charge of the jumping division of the H. R. Bain stable, shipped a number of steeplechasers to Aqueduct. The shipment included Buck and Wing, Caniento and others. Racing secretary Charles F. Henry is arranging to stage a race at a mile and five-eighths on the closing day of the Long Branch meeting. Henry is certain that the race will draw a sufficient number of entries, providing the track remains fast. P. L. Ciceri, who is here in the interest of the coming meeting to be staged by the Hamilton Jockey Club, is circulating among the horsemen calling their attention to the A. R. Louden Memorial Handicap to be run Saturday, June 27. Nominations for this ,000 added attraction at a mile and one-sixteenth closes next Wednesday, June 17. Kenneth Dawes, who raced such sterling performers as Marine and Calm when operating the Mount. Royal Stable several years ago, was an arrival from Montreal for a few days of racing at Long Branch. Charles F. Henry, who will serve as racing secretary during the thirty-six day meeting at Thistle Down Park, near Cleveland, has compiled the first issue of the condition books and hopes to have the printer release the booklets in a few days. Henry has been advised that Dr. C. N. Mooney will ship Ted Clark to the Cleveland course and has also been informed that A. J. Halliwell will ship his entire string from Canada. G. C. Gardner, who is getting Ted Clark, owned by Dr. C. N. Mooney into racing condition for a mid-summer campaign, notified officials of the Long Branch Jockey Club that he would work the six-year-old son of Chatterton and Uncles Lassie between races at the suburban course Saturday. Racing secretary, Charles F. Henry has framed the conditions for a mile and five- eighths race that will be used on the closing program of the Long Branch Jockey Club Wednesday. P. Hlynsky, who rode in the maiden jockeys race at Woodbine Park, stated that he will ride during the remainder of the Long Branch meeting. Billy Kelly, sports editor for the Buffalo Courier Express, came over from Buffalo for the afternoon. Mayor Kelly of Huntsville, Ont., was a visitor and enjoyed the sport immensely. Starter Tom Clarks outside list at the starting gate was increased by the additions of Granite Rock, Princely Pal. Nilrebo, Wrig-ley Field, Peaceful, Keen Babe, Playing. Nights End and Dodiodo. Colleen Moore, famous movie actress, who is on tour, was guest of the management at Long Branch Saturday. A consignment of the H. C. Hatch and Mrs. R. Fairbanks horses in charge of Lloyd Gentry will be shipped to Hamilton to await the opening of the Hamilton meeting. The shipment will not be made, however, until after the close of the present meeting at Long Branch. George Hay is anxious to have horsemen file their registration and badge list for the coming meeting at Dufferin Park as soon as possible. Blanks can be obtained at the racing secretarys office. Walter Richey expects to race the horses of Joseph Cattarinich during the coming meetings at Dufferin Park and Hamilton. Mutuels manager Ed Vivell had a full crew to accommodate the wagering public at Long Branch Saturday.
