THREE STAKES IN ONE WEEK Classic, Futurity and Arlington Handicap to Be Run Between July 25 and August 1. ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, 111., June 23: Beginning with the Inaugural Handicap on opening day, June 29, seven stakes will bring interest to a climax during the final week of Arlington Parks thirty days meeting, according to the program drafted by racing secretary Charles J. McLennan. Rearrangement of stake dates this year by McLennan offers three handsomely en-downed specials during the last week the Classic, for three-year-olds, on Saturday, July 25; the Arlington Futurity, for two-year-olds, and the Arlington Handicap, for three-year-olds and upward, on closing day, Saturday, August 1. "This should be an ideal arrangement for horsemen who originally planned to ship for one of. these stakes," said McLennan. "They will be require-d to engage a full car, in any event, and could ship horses in all three divisions for the week." McLennan and his staff are ready for the invasion of 1,400 horses, the cream of the nations racing material, which will pour into the spacious Arlington Park stables during the latter part of the week. More prominent eastern stables than ever before are pointing for the Arlington meeting, said McLennan, who returned from a tour of the eastern racing sector last Sunday. At present about 150 horses, including powerful divisions of Mrs. John D. Hertz, Warren Wright, the Shandon Farm Stable. Coldstream Stud and the Milky Way Farm Stable, are already on the grounds, reports stable superintendent George White. Horses have been training over the track for the past three weeks. Track superintendent Clarence Brinkman has the track in excellent condition and predicts that the track, which ranks with Belmont Park as the speediest in America, will be faster than last year. -
