ANKLETS, inclined to bear to the inside and greatly handicapping his rider the first half mile, improved his position fast after reaching the stretch, but was never strongly urged and appeared to have something left. TOMYE showed the most speed from the start, saved ground after the first eighth and held on fairly well, but failed to withstand the winner. BIRDS EYE, under light pressure after three-eighths, tired in ,thc last eighth. COPPER TUBE, away slowly and raced wide, closed with a rush. HONORARY moved up on the turn, but failed to keep up thereafter. ACTDINE quit. PARISIAN WITCH, shuffled back slightly, never recovered. BEAU MONDE lacked speed. BIG EDDIE fell while at the post and was badly outrun. PEP TALK forced the earlv pace under light restraint, bore over sharply impeding ARTHUR B. after taking a short lead in the stretch and, holding on with good courage, outgamcd SIR MIDAS in the drive. The latter, under steadying restraint until reaching the stretch, where he came to the outside, stood a drive gamely, but could not get up. COLONELS MISS, rank at the post and slow to begin, raced wide and tired alter noaring the loaders in the stretch. FRANK C. also fractious at the post, closed with good speed. CH4TTERFOL well up in the early stages, bore out slightly on the turn, rallied when straight in the stretch and, holding on well, withstood BONNIE MARITAS determined challenge. The latter, forced to lose much ground, moved up fast soon after entering the stretch and, fighting it out gamely under strong handling, barely failed to cet up. BRIGHT BUBBLE exhibited good speed from the start, but faltered badly as if "choking up" in the final eighth. ADELAIDE A. cave an even effort. CANTERON was held safe by the leaders throughout. WAR DIMES becan very slowly and made up ground in the stretch. BLUE HOUR raced slugeishly and was never a strong factor. TRIPLE PLAY and SUN VOTER quit badly. Scratched-27214 Jadaan. JABBERIE forced the early pace under strong restraint, raced into a good lead quickly under light urging soon after entering the stretch and, holding on well, withstood BUSY MAES bid. The latter, restrained when racing on the inside in the early stages, swerved behind FOND MEMORIES after having started out in the stretch and when brought out in the final eighth, closed resolutely. MASKILLO, well up from the start but raced wide throughout, showed an even effort. MISS GRAVITY finished fast. FOND MEMORIES showed .speed from the start, was on the inside after the first three-sixteenths and tired bauly in the last three-sixteenths. TRYANHURRY lacked speed and was never a strong factor. MICROBE, going in his best form but lucky, was steadied along under light restraint in the early racing, had to be strongly shaken up to keep up when entering the stretch, came through on the inside in the drive and tired after getting up, but lasted. SILVERSMITH displayed keen speed from the start, swerved out entering- the stretch and held on with fine courage when straight and would have returned to the lead in -another stride. WEST MAIN, closer up than usual in the first part and taken under stout restraint on the turn, came to the extreme outside in the stretch and closed with determination, though failing to get up. TRACTABLE, under stronc riding after a half mile, cot to the front in the drive, but failed to hold the winncr-.in the final stages. HUEU closed with a rush. OUT PUT, forced back when saving ground on the turn, came out in the stretch and tired after moving up when approaching the final eighth. AMIJO could not improve his position. The latter improved her position gradually, came fast in the stretch and dosed resolutely. MAREVE rushed to the lead early, continued well under occasional pressure, but tired inside the final eighth. SAM ALEXANDER raced well to the stretch, then lost ground gradually. STAR DIXIE forced the pace for five-eighths, then tired. BAKU was outrun. JERRY H. quit-FAIR PROSPECT shewed nothine. Scratched-28202 Golden X., 110.
