The start in the first race was delayed due to the breaking of equipment on Occidental. The horse was brought back to the paddock and Gilbert then refused to ride him, A. Pikor being substituted. In the delay at the post while riders were dismounted. Night Raven broke away from his custodian and galloped off a fast furlong before being captured. Due to the absence of jockey J. Gilbert Wednesday, jockey S. Renick will ride G. D. Wideners High Fleet in the Gazelle Stakes. Jockeys J. Gilbert and I. Hanford leave for Suffolk Downs Wednesday to fulfill riding engagements at that point. Twenty-nine yearlings- owned by the Greentree Stable arrived at Redbank, N. J., consigned to the Greentree Stable. They are evenly divided as to sex. Word was received from Saratoga that Eddie Byers arrived and opened up the Grand Union A. C. in preparation for the racing season. G. D. Wideners Rebellion was excused from his engagement Monday. The colt developed a high temperature during the morning. Jockey S. Renick returned from Suffolk Downs, where he rode Airflame on Saturday. Jockey R. Workman arrived from Chicago, where he rode Tatterdemalion in the Derby. Walter F. Jeffords arrived from Lexington, where he inspected the yearlings that he has at that point. Jockey E. Litzenberger left for Suffolk Downs while R. Kastner returned from that point. Jockey T. Malley resumed riding, his first appearance since his injury on May 5 at Jamaica. John Hay Whitneys Mr. Eones will be pointed for the Arlington Classic, his next major engagement. Flamenco will be shipped here to Fred Hopkins from Suffolk Downs and that conditioner will handle him for the remainder of the season. -
