MISS EPE saved ground through the back stretch, came to the outside of the pacemaker at the stretch head, secured command, but was driving hard to stall off WHO. The latter, well up at all times, was forced slightly wide at the stretch head, but closed with splendid courage and was wearing the winner down. HOLLBIT moved up on the stretch turn, but swung very wide and finished going fast. SHEBANG showed keen speed for a half mile, but tired when put to the final test. DREAMY ISLE gained steadily rounding the turn, came between horses at the stretch head, responded gamely and wore down the loader in the last stride. ALS PRIDE showed keen speed at all times, but tired "after securing the lead in the stretch. ANJOE broke well, but shuffled back, was forced to race wide on the turn and finished going fastest. SALLANDRY showed a good even race at all times. SQUARE PLAY had no mishaps. MOLL, fractious at the barrier, propped when the break came and vas left. FREDRICK, always a forward factor, gained steadily on the outside In the stretch run and just got up to displace MEROVECH. MEROVECH raced LADY PAL into early defeat, secured the lead on the turn, hut tired when the rdal test came. DOGMATA, away slowly, lacked its usual speed at all times, came very wide in the stretch, but failed to make up any ground. MAHI raced well in spots. GOOD DAME possessed much early foot, raced HOOSIC MAID and LOLOMA into submission, drew clear, but could not hold the winners challenge. MAD EAGLE, in a contending position at all times, finished stoutly. HOOSIC MAID tired in the last quarter after forcing most of the early pace. CHRISTINE ADEE lacked speed leaving the gate, trailed to the stretch head, and closed going fast. LOLOMA quit after a half mile. GRAMARYE had no excuses. Scratched 27067Doeskin, 109. CANPRA raced along in the middle of the field until reaching the stretch turn and moved up with a rush through the stretch. ITALIAN HARRY, a trailer for the first quarter, was forced to go wide, at all times to secure clear passage and finished with a belated rush on the extreme outside to finish in a dead heat with CANPRA for the place. STICKEMUP forced the pace from the start, but quit when put to the real test in the last quarter. SO HIGH closed some ground in the last part. SOPHISTICATED, rated just back of the leaders until called upon, assumed command without effort after straightening out in the stretch and .drew clear at the end. SIR THOMAS under heavy restraint while racing with the leadert secured a brief lead on the turn, "but could not hold the winner. off. SAINTED, also under mild restraint while setting the early pace, flattened out when the real test came., BLAST," unruly at the gate, left in a tangle and could not recover its stride for three-quarters, but made up some ground in the lart quarter. GOLDFIN trailed as usual for seven-eighths, then passed tiring horses t the end. LAPLAND had no excuses. PATIENT SAINT, flattened out badly after showing a burst of speed midway of the stretch turn. AIRWAY, always well up with the pace, assumed command entering the stretch, but could not hold the winner off. IDENTICAL snowed good speed for seven-eighths, but tired when put to the final test. MISS ALPHONSO, shuffled back going to the first turn, finished with a belated rush. LIGHT ACTION raced evenly at all times. SWEET-BROOM, fast to begin, showed speed for a half mile, but retired fast when challenged. BURNING BILLOWS quit after racing in a contending position.
