RAINY DAY .opened up a good lead after leaving the back stretch, but tired in the run home. VILLA BANQUET began slowly and made up much ground. COLONEL LE dropped back alter breaking well, then came fast approaching the stretch turn, but tired in the last eighth. UNLUCKY LINK showed a flash of early speed. GRAZING improved her position steadily under urging and, coming fast through the stretch, wore down RUNHELEN to get to the front near the end. RUNHELEN had the most early speed, but tired near the finish. ST. IVES improved his position and was going fastest of all at the end. WISE BUDDY showed a good effort. NQIR LIGHT had a rough trip. .TYBO needed the race. VALIANT BOY, caught in close ruarters approaching the far turn, was being pulled up for an eighth before finally being yanked back to last place when his rider was jammed against the fence and sufiered an injured foot. SHEPS CHANCE had speed from the start and took a clear lead after leaving the back stretch, but gave ground in the stretch and permitted WELL DRESSED to draw up on even terms in the last sixteenths, then came again and had a short but convincing margin at the end. WELL DRESSED dropped back when headed bv the winner, then came again in the last quarter to catch the latter, but was unable to remain in front. HY LOU showed an improved effort and was wall up all the way. LOTUS FLOWER went fairly well. MARY COT could not keep up and seems to prefer a soft track. LIGHT ZEPHYR raced poorly. WINNING WOMAN was well up most of. the way. PANCOAST had some early speed. SUN T. was taken up at the start and dropped far back, then came fast in the last quarter and can do better. BILL DONOGHUE had speed and could have lengthened on the field, but was held under restraint until challenged in the stretch and might have won had his rider been of any help near the finish. MARCIA made up some ground on the outside. HEDON raced well and finished close up. BRIDES DELIGHT quit badly. ERIN LAD was badly outrun early. Overweight Brides Delight, 2 pounds.
