TRUE TUNE, suited by the footing, moved into the lead in the first quarter mile, shook off MISS ADELINE when reaching the stretch, responded to punishment in the last eighth and outstayed FOND MEMORIES. The latter had to go to the outside after getting away slower than usual, gained stoutly to reach a forward position, but tired in the final drive from her early efforts. MUSCATINE raced fonvardly in the early racing, saved a lot of ground in the late stages and came willingly at the finish. MISS ADELINE had good speed for five-eichths, then tired. PANTHER CREEK made up some ground in the last five-sixteenths. STORY TIME was bumped and knocked back at the turn out of the back stretch, then came again when clear. GLAD WINGS lost a lot of ground throughout. MAKALAW tired in the last quarter mile. HURRY HARRY, reserved off the pace for the first mile, challenged stoutly going to the twelfth fence, took command when FLYING FEATHERS made a bad landing at that jump, continued strongly when in front and drew- out under pressure at the end. HURRY HARRYS rider lost the use of his stirrup irons and could not give his mount full justice. FLYING FEATHERS raced into an easy lead at the ninth fence, was overtaken when he made a bad landing at the twelfth jump, but held on well. MATAGAIN passed tiring horses to reach a forward position and could not threaten after being steered wide in the late stages. DUNDRILLIN could not threaten when shaken up. FOREST CHARM almost fell at the fourth fence, then fell far back. LITTLE WOMAN was made too much use of setting the early pace and quit badly. GO HOME, going in his best form, assumed command midway of the back stretch, was passed by FRENCH PRINCESS midway of the stretch, but came determinedly and was up in the last fifty yards. FRENCH PRINCESS raced close up from the start, moved into a short lead in the closing eighth, but tired suddenly in the final sixteenth. SARACEN raced in the first flight throughout, saved a great deal of ground, but was tiring fast at the close. GREY STREAK could not make up any ground during the final drive. COUNT RAE dropped back immediately after the start, then was steered extremely wide while improving his position. CHIMNEY TOP tired after the first half mile. MY KIN could not menace. LITTLE ARCO, on the inside and raring in the deeper footing early, made several bids, but tired in the last five-sixteenths. RUDENIA was hustled abng all the way and had no excuses. BOTTLE CAP, racing equipped with blinkers and at home in the footing, raced close up in the early running, disposed of WAR ADMIRAL midway of the turn, came into the better footing when reaching the stretch and held sway under mild urging near the end. WAR ADMIRAL was hustled hard to get to the front in the opening quarter mile, was displaced midway of the turn, but kept in nearest pursuit of the winner lo the end, and slipped repeatedly during the stretch drive. YELLOW TULIP was forced to race on the outside of the leaders and was unable to menace in the final drive. BITTER BERRY lost ground on the turn and could not stay. REX FLAG went very wide on the back stretch and continued on the outside to the end. ORIENTALIST labored in the footing and sprawled when straightened into the stretch. PEPLUM was unable to enter contention. MR. CANRON showed no speed. ALEXANDRINE quit badly. ROUSTABOUT went into the lead under sufferance, saved ground wherever possible, but could not withstand the winner when forced to a drive. MAERIEL went close up throughout and held oh well. AZUCAR could not threaten. WHERE AWAY was taken under strong restraint right after the start, showed a flash of speed going to the Final turn, but flattened out badly thereafter. The latter went close to the leaders from the start, gained fast in the last five-sixteenths and was wearing the winner down at every stride ncaring the close. PANALONG, far back early, circled his field and closed gamely. BLIND BROOK had no excuses. SOUTH BEND was sent up in the deepest footing going to the final tum. but quit.
