HOME GEORGE forced the early pace, raced LANQUO into defeat, quickly drew out into a long lead in the stretch, but was tiring at the end and had to be ridden out to hold INDEPENDENT WAY safe, pie latter, far back early, lost much ground while moving up, came to the outside in the stretch and was wearing the winner down. DIZZY B. lacked early speed, saved ground in the final quarter and closed well. LANQUO broke fast, showed early speed, but tired in the closing eighth. MADDOX quit badly in the final eighth. The latter, well placed in the early running, closed gamely in the stretch, but could not get to the winner. MIANNE lacked early speed, worked her way up between horses and finished gamely. WITTORA, well placed in the early running, saved ground on the inside all the way, but tired in the closing sixteenth. MY ROSANNE was going gamely at the end. MISS CRACKER tired badly.
