TRACK SUITS C0RAM1NE Stimulus Filly in Excellent Performance Over Heavy Strip. Carries Top Weight of 115 Pounds to Easy Score in Queen City Handicap at River Downs. CINCINNATI, Ohio, Oct 10. Through a drizzling rain and over a track fetlock deep, Coramine, sparkling daugter of Stimulus, which races for Mrs. C. S. Howard, California sportswoman, was an easy and popular winner of the Queen City Handicap, todays feature at River Downs. She raced to the end of six furlongs, five lengths before Oddesa Farms Oddesa Girl, which led O. F. Woodwards Jadva by a length for second. Perlette, coupled with Dellor as the J. W. Parrish entry. and a strong second choice, saved fourth from her stablemate. Midas, Woodberry, Par-Queen and Eurotas trailed the leaders in the named order. Under 115 pounds, top weight of the field and ridden by Jack Pollard, who was completing a "double," Coramine ran the distance in 1:18 and earned ,250 of the ,500 added purse. It was her fifth victory In fifteen starts this year and brought her total winnings to 3,755. Only nine of the sixteen named overnight were under colors and although Jadva, which began from the extreme outside, was the first in motion, Pollard soon had the winner in the lead. Rushing her along for a half mile, he brought her to the stretch three lengths before Jadva, which with Od-dessa Girl and Perlette, were racing in close order, During the final-furlong, Coramine increased her -lead while -Oddesa Girl came on to wear down Jadva.- Unlike her winning effort here, Perlette was unable to improve her position and tired in the late stages. Dellor was always best of the others, which were strung out after the opening sixteenth. LARGE ATTENDANCE. Despite disagreeable weather, a crowd rivalling that of last Saturday, when 10,000 were present, attended. The racing strip was in a heavy and treacherous condition, and a majority of winners got home by large margins. The program, with the exception of the feature, was recruited from the claiming ranks. However, interesting and formful racing prevailed and the third popular score of the afternoon came with the fifth e,vent, that supported the feature. This resulted in a victory for Miss Alice Vans Zebulo, which turned back the fast-finishing Campagna, Ceallaigh, Black Miss, which shared favoritism with him and four others. Although in motion at the start, Zebulo, which had the services of E. Rodriguez, was unable to match strides with Chance Queen, which was rushed into a good lead during the opening quarter. Rodriguez drove the winner into command, but after establishing a big advantage he tired rapidly and had nothing left when Campagna. which came from far back offered her belated charge. QUICK BY NOSE. A nose finish came with the opening event for lowly platers when Jack M. Brooks Quick got up to beat the tiring and heavily-supported Tarpon at the end of six furlongs. Miss Dolly, which was in closest pursuit of Tarpon the greater part of the run, was third. Never far back and ridden by Jack Pollard, the winner moved up fast after reaching the stretch, and when Tarpon, which established a big advantage during the opening half, tired, he came on to gain the decision in a camera finish. Another surprise came with the running of the second, also for sprinting platers, when San Lu turned back Blagden and Dulcimer, the well-supported Hamburger Jim and six others at the end of six furlongs. Always in closest pursuit of the pacemaking Blagden and ridden by Joe Tinker, San Lu took command after being guided to the inside in the stretch and although he drew clear rapidly he had little left at the end. Some six lengths separated Blagden and Dulcimer with the latter a length before Hamburger Jim, which failed to improve his position under strong urging. Joe Brooks saddled his second winner, this time for A. M. Smith, when Two Brooms, which was making his first appearance under that owners colors, was an easy winner of the third race at one mile and a sixteenth. Kavalry Jack was second and Golden Beam third. Subduing Jefferson, after reaching the final half mile, Two Brooms drew away steadily to be some three and a half lengths before Kavalry Jack at the end. The latter beat the tiring Golden Beam by half a length for second. Sporting Maudic, one of the choices, gave way after a half mile. Meloche was astride his second winner and another favorite rewarded when James F. ONeils Riff was an easy winner of the fourth race. Oddesa Clark was second and Parrish Roach third. Hustled into the lead. Riff made his own pace and repulsing Oddesa Clarks strong bid approaching the final quarter of the mile and forty yards he reached the end two lengths before Oddesa Clark, which led Parrish Roach by four lengths for second. Busy Prince, one of the choices, tired rapidly after three-quarters.
