HIGHTSHOE FULL FLEDGED JOCKEY AFTER SATURDAY HOUSTON, Texas, Oct. 10. With the completion of Saturdays racing at Epsom Downs, jockey Raymond Hightshoe, who is well up among the leading American jockeys for 1936, loses his apprenticeship beginning with Mondays racing. Hightshoe will be without the five pounds allowance under a ruling issued by Miss Elizabeth M. Thweatt, secretary of the Texas Racing Commission on Saturday. In a communication to presiding steward Tom Sanford of Epsom Downs, Miss Thweatt stated: "The records show that jockey Hightshoe rode his first winner on October 12, 1935, at Kingsville, Texas, and his apprenticeship expires one year from the date of riding his first winner." Hightshoe is leading the jockey list in winners and points scored in the race fof the championship of the jockeys at Epsom Downs and the gold watch, which i3 to be awarded to the victor.
