1 NEW ORLEANS NOTES 1 3 Jim Chesney will ship a string of eight here, including his crack handicap stars Cristate and Professor Paul, which raced with much success at Detroit and Thistle Down this summer. Chesney also has three two-year-olds from which he expects to develop a Derby candidate. Cliff Sybert has three useful horses in High Devine, Gold Tie and Polyphote, which will come from Chicago. F. P. Letellier, local horseman, will campaign a string of fourteen head here, including his crack three-year-old Billbo, which recently ran a mile in the Beach Hotel Handicap in Chicago in 1:35. He also has some prospective two-year-olds. G. R. Bryson will campaign perhaps the largest string on the grounds, bringing a t6tal of twenty-seven head, which will be headed by his crack three-year-old Carvola, which should have won the Chicago Derby from Hollyrood this summer. Bryson has several fleet two-year-olds, as well as a well-balanced stable. W. A. Mikel will bring close to thirty head, which will come from Texas. Mikel is now handling the contract of Ed McCuans boy, Warren Cornay, who will also come here to make his riding debut this winter. McCuan will race hero for the first time in several years. Other old-timers who arc expected to return to New Orleans this winter are E. E. Major, Benny Creech, Clarence Davison and Paul Kelley. Another splendid string which will come from Chicago is that of John Oros, which will include the following horses: Snorky, Cheraw, Scotland Beauty, Ricciardo, Bonnio Dream, Gibbys Choice, Sherron, Morning Mail, Double Nugget, Goodbye Blues, Bungalow, Let Her Play, Ancelot, Wt3e Ecjdie and others. A. G. Tarn will campaign fifteen head here this winter, which will include Epernay. for wliii:,hAcLpatd ?5 last sPng. Tarn also saddled the iron horse Rushaway. which won the Illinois and Latonia Derbys this summer in successive days, after his victory here in the Louisiana Derby. J: B. Theall will ship fifteen head here, which will include the fleet two-year-old Jewell Dorsett and the veteran campaigner Rip Van Winkle. Walter OHara, boss of Narragansett, is expected to ship twelve head here to race this winter. S Buckland will send a stable of winners in Renaissance, seven-time victor; Ladino, which won eight; Volomlte, which scored five times, and Eric T., Billy Mole and Sharp Thoughts. George Fclkner, who trains for the Blue Ribbon Stock Farm, is shipping a handicap horse, Lunsford; Strange Time, Dixie Fox, Aura, Here On and Contrary. A newcomer to local racing is the San Antonio patron, Mrs. V. Wyse, who will ship Bachelor Prince, Synod, Eastport, Leonard Wilson, Strolling Home, Civil War, Somebody, Kai Harri, Forced Landing, Patti, Parva Stella and seven yearlings purchased at the Saratoga Sales this summer. t 0
