AGUA CALIENTE NOTES f k : Though the Caliente track is to operate only four days a week, the number of races it plans to run totals thirty-five per week, or the equal of seven races daily for the regular five-day week in California. That the backers of the revival venture at the Mexican spa are going ahead in earnest with their plans to bring the sport back in a fashion comparable to the glory it enjoyed in pre-depression days is shown by the announcement of another ,000 stakes "We will put on two ,000 added races," Gene Normilo said. "These will be the Fourth of July and Labor Day Handicaps. Also, we will offer a ,500 added Decoration Day Handicap." Normile, who plans to leave for the North in a few days, declared that the Caliente track is "ready to go." A force of 100 men has just completed cleaning "P the entire plant and with the exception of the landscape gardeners and a few odds and ends for the carpenters to take care of, the big sports hippodrome presents a picture to the eye almost identical to the scene of beauty that so caught and held the popular fancy for ten years.
