KEENELAND PARK NOTES s and Henry L. Straus, head of the American Totalisator Company, arrived here from Baltimore and will make a short stay. The veteran, Earl Pool, and J. W. Wilson, apprentice, under contract to C. N. Finch, accepted their first engagements of the meeting when they were seen in colors at Keene-land Tuesday. Trainer Clyde Van Dusen, with thirty-five to race under Charles T. Fishers Dixiana colors expects to get away Thursday for Narragansett Park. Twenty-four of the horses are scheduled to leave at the same time, with eleven following on Friday. Jockey C. Stevenson will remain at Keene-land through Saturday reporting to Van Dusen at the Rhode Island track Sunday. Alexander B. Gordon leaves Friday for New York, where he will remain indefinitely. Mort Shaw left for Narragansett, where he is in charge of the totalisator department. Upon leaving, he turned the same department at Keeneland over to Ernie White. Richard D. Williams, former owner and trainer, visited Keeneland Tuesday. Thomas J. Healey, trainer of Flying Cross, stated that the C. V. Whitney Derby hopeful came out of his disappointing race Tuesday with several cuts on his hind legs, apparently inflicted when the horse kicked at the starting gate, while at the post.
