UPSLALA had good speed from the start to take command in the opening eighth, disposed of BESTEST to open a commanding lead midway of the stretch asd was being taken in hand at the end. BESTEST broke in front, could not resist the winner, but continued gamely. FRANK BROOKE showed a good effort and closed willingly. SCOLD was on the inside throughout while racing greenly. TOUCHE quickly disposed of ALAHAD to take a short lead, was well rated in front while saving ground and held LUCKY COLOR safe in the drive. The latter, shuffled back soon after the start, gradually bettered his position when clear and finished stoutly. JOAN ASBESTOS, always in a contending position, held on gamely, but was not good enough. BAREBACK, sluggish in the early stages, moved up very fast when settled in its stride and finished full of run. ALAHAD flashed early speed, but quit badly. PLAYNOT did not fancy the going. AERO, favoring the footing, was sent into command immediately after the start, swerved over sharply impeding FYAN when the latter attempted to go through on the inside at the half-mile mark, drew clear immediately and was not threatened thereafter, but was disqualified for fouling. PRINCE ALONE, always in a contending position, made repeated attempts to catch AERO, but was not good enough. POMPISH, away very slowly, moved into contention quickly when settled into its stride and finished fast. BOLD GENERAL raced evenly, but could not threaten. WHITE HOT made up some ground. FYAN, close to AERO in the early racing, attempted to get through on the inside at the half-mile post and was knocked back badly. She had no chance after she sprawled. The others were outrun. MORNING raced closest to the leader from the start, challenged stoutly in the stretch, but was no match for the winner. PRAIRIE DOG lacked speed to match the early leaders, but finished stoutly when settled into its stride. QUINCY, a distant trailer in the early racing, could not threaten when placed to a drive. SUNPHANTOM, fractious at the gate, flashed good speed to take command in the run for the first turn, gave way to the winner and was under pressure to stall off COURT SCANDAL at the end. -The latter, taken under restraint in the early stages, finished stoutly, but was not good enough. MATEY raced wide on the first turn, lacked speed to engage the leaders at any timt and was steered wide while hot being persevered with. SIXTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES. POMCOSITY pressed the pace of POST BRIGADE to the stretch and continued gamely when displaced, but was no match for the winner. POST BRIGADE was sprinted to the front in the run to the first turn, but tired gradually through the stretch. NAVAL CADET had no excuses while going evenly.
