LADY MYRTLE, away well and having speed, took command gradually after reaching the final quarter nd, holding on with good courage, withstood GREENSKI. The latter began to move up after the first three-sixteenths, secured room on the inside in the stretch and, closing resolutely under strong handling, was getting to the winner. SUCRE had speed from the start, bore out badly on the stretch turn and closed well when straightened. SOUND WAVE lost ground and also held on well. MISS MARS raced evenly. BRILLIANT STONE, well up from the start and rated under light restraint to the final quarter, closed with determination under strong riding and was up in the final stride. PIERRE ANDRE took command quickly, was steadied to the stretch and, tiring in the final sixteenth, failed to withstand the winner. THE MAYOR rushed to a prominent position in the first quarter, swerved out slightly on the stretch turn and held on well in the drive. BILLIES ORPHAN had no mishaps. RIFF raced well. MY GRANDSON displayed good speed from the start, opened up a commanding lead in the opening quarter, received a breathing spell on the turn and, continuing well in the stretch, easily held his company safe. ZINGALI moved up under pressure on the turn and continued with determination thereafter, but did not menace the winner. BUGINARUG, away slowly and badly outrun early, saved ground while improving its position in the final quarter. BET A MILLION lost ground throughout, failed to respond to light urging and was inclined to swerve in the stretch. BLUE MARQUE tired badly. SPARTA, forced to race wide throughout and under snug restraint early, was inclined to bear to the inside when urged and tired near the end, but outstayed SURVEYOR. The latter saved ground throughout and held on with good courage. EAGLE PASS could not improve his position. BLACK GIFT was through early. GREY GOLD, fractious at the post, began in motion and with a decided advantage, made the early pace under steady restraint, withstood BILLIONAIRES challenge and came away in the final eighth, but had little left. BILLIONAIRE raced wide on the first turn, was rated under strong restraint for about five-eighths, went wide again when making his bid entering the stretch and tired badly, but outstayed BROOKLYN. The latter, under strong restraint for almost three-quarters, was forced very wide to come to the outside in the final quarter and moved up threateningly approaching the final eighth, but tired thereafter. OLD NASSAU had no mishaps. CIIIGRE began very slowly and showed little. ALBUBBLE unseated his rider when he stumbled in breaking out of the gate before the start, ran away the full distance of the track, then entered the stable enclosure where he was captured. GABLE had good speed, saved ground throughout, but gave way badly in the final eighth. ASSIST, away in a tangle, showed a good effort. ROYAL CHARM had no excuses.
