WHEELING AUGUST MEETING Walter H. Donovan Heading Group Planning Revival of Racing in West Virginia City. BALTIMORE, Md., April 21. Completion of negotiations for the revival of racing in Wheeling, W. Va., was announced here today by Walter H. Donovan, who heads a group of eastern sportsman who will finance a meeting at the West Virginia track this fall. Mr. Donovan, formerly president of the National Association of Racing Commissioners, will serve as president of the racing association. A name for the track has not yet been determined, nor have definite dates for the meeting been decided upon. Tentative plans call for racing to begin there during the latter part of August and continue for a period of at least fifteen days. A jockey club, comprising business and social leaders of the Pittsburgh-Wheeling sector, is already in process of formation. Included in the plans for Improvement and development of the property is a new clubhouse, camera finish equipment and the installation of a totalizator.
