KLISTER had speed from the start and, soon drawing into a good lead, saved ground in the stretch and had enough left to hold SUN TEA. The latter was never far away and lost ground by racing wide in the stretch, but finished gamely on her own courage. TIGH NA GOW was slow to begin and was forced to race wide while making his move, but finished fast. TARPER was well up throughout, and raced evenly. RACK UP tired in the stretch. CRIMSON GLORY lacked speed at all times and pulled up slightly lame. MAORI GIRL attempted to run away before the start, then unseated her rider and started from outside the gate, never being a serious contender. ACERO tired badly in the stretch. FOUNTAIN GROVE, off quickly, soon took a good lead and, widening-on her opponents when ready, was never in danger. SKY SHOOT, shuffled back soon after the start, dropped back to last place, then came very fast after going half the distance and lost much ground racing on the outside, but ran a; winning race, although tiring near the end. FIGHT ON was in close quarters early, but came fast when clear and would have been second in a few more strides. SUDDENLY showed a good turn of early speed. MUCH TROUBLE had early speed, but was in close quarters rounding the far turn and again in the stretch. FLYSTAR quit. MIKES LUCK had a rough trip. JEAN CLOUD puljed up sore. BOSWORTH, close up from the start, had little trouble taking command when ready and drew out near the end. BOSTON BROOK lacked early speed and was in close quarters in the back stretch, then came gamely to find an opening on the inside in the stretch and finished well. PETER SAXON was a forward factor from the start and held on fairly well, but seemed a trifle sore after pulling up. WHISPER was never far away and raced evenly. HAPPY DINAH had good speed for a half mile, then tired. PLUCKY JACK was permitted to race in behind horses when making his move on the stretch turn, then came to the outside when too late to finish fairly well. HEATHER TIME, forced to race rather wide in the early stages, came strongly under hard urging through the stretch and bested FIGARO narrowly in a hard drive. FIGARO, Well up from the start, made a strong move to catch TEA MERCHANT in the stretch and, .going gamely to the finish, barely missed. ARJAC made up ground gradually and was going gamely at the finish. FIRST PORT war in close quarters early, but was going well at the end. TEA MERCHANT sprinted into a good lead from the Inside position soon after the start and saved ground in the stretch, but tired in the last eighth; BYRDFORD had early speed, but was in close quarters after being headed by FIGARO and HEATHER TIME in the stretch.
