1 CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES $ W. G. Sparks, who shipped here some time ago from Lexington, plans a busy campaign for his stable during the Churchill Downs meeting, beginning a week from Saturday. This Kentucky horseman is training ten, of which three are two-year-olds. Owned by Mrs. Sparks, they are: Spansie Ann, Princess Ann and Blue Shirt. W. E. Hupp, Matt Lair, R. C. Frakes and Mrs. Carrie Hardins own other horses in the stable. The three two-year-olds J. P. Keezek is training for William J." Lynch of Chicago will race here. The youngsters are the fillies Pure Wind and Mercedes Mc, and the colt Emporium. They had their early preparation at Hot Springs. Robert McGarvey was advised of the death of Wise Daughters filly foal by Bull Dog. The youngster lived only about a week. Sent to Coldstream Stud, Well Rewarded, also owned by Mrs. Ethel V. Mars, and winner last year of the Princess Pat Stakes at Washington Park, has been bred to Bull Dog. Fred Scoville arrived from Kansas Citj; with Dark Seeker and Spanish Art. Tom Young, Churchill Downs track superintendent, made a fast trip to Lincoln Fields to inspect work under way there. He left here Thursday morning and was expected back Friday evening.
