UTICA sprinted into command, gave way when challenged and tired rapidly near the end. BLUE STAR bore out slightly at the start and tired. MISS NADI raced evenly. The others were outrun. FUMBLE, away fastest but unable to keep up, was sent to -the- inside when improving his position, wore down GOLDEN ARIEL inside the final sixteenth and withstood BRILLIANT ROCK. The latter, forced wide throughout, was wearing down the winner at the end. GOLDEN ARIEL, a strong factor from the start, subdued RIPPLEALONG when steered to the inside on the stretch turn, but was unable to withstand the leaders. SAY WHEN, unprepared at the start and outrun for five-eighths, finished fast on the extreme outside. IMPERIAL LU was done after a half mile. DOUBLE R. was outrun. RIPPLEALONG quit after- a half mile. STAR BOARDER, fractious but away well, lost ground from the start and finished strongly. SIS LOTTIE sprinted into a long lead early, but tired rapidly in the final sixteenth. TACK. DRIFT ALONG, rushed to the front, gave way when challenged, was blocked when attempting to get through on the inside on the stretch turn, then came to the outside for room and bore out slightly in the last stages. KITTY BAKER dropped back after five-sixteenths and showed nothing. SILVER SARAH, rank and away slowest, was hustled along when in stride and quit badly after relinquishing the lead. JUDGE LEER, displaying good speed from the start, took command approaching the stretch, but tired under strong pressure. RAYMOND began slowly and made up ground in the final quarter. IN SPADES, alertly ridden and displaying good speed from the start, opened up a commanding lead swiftly, saved ground while setting the pace and was never threatened. ALAN CHICLE was away with the leaders, raced on the outside and closed gamely under urging. ODDESA DON improved, his position, gradually under strong handling. WALL began slowly and could not reach the leaders. RED CHIEF, well up for most of the trip, tired in the drive. SUNNY CHANCE had speed for a half mile, then quit badly. WILD DAY was fractious at the gate, was placed on the outside for the start and never threatened. Overweight Sunny Chance, 3 pounds.
