HAUNTED HOUSE, breaking slowly and slow to settle into stride, gained fast in the last quarter mile, came to the outside of the leaders and was up in the last few yards.. TIMETTA displayed good speed, to get to the fronts shook off POLLY FAIR and. fought it out stubbornly in the final issue. WALLI was prominent all the wav and continued gamely to. the finish. POLLY FAIR was a strong factor for a half mile, then tired. PEGS COURAGE came strongly in the stretch drive. SET PAT showed early speed. COLD CHARITY was never a factor. IRENES BOB was a strong contender from -the start, overhauled the leaders, but could, not withstand the winner. IDLE ELF was well up all the Avajv and held: on willingly. LADY- PATROL closed, a good gap from a slow beginning. LADY DUNLIN turned in a good effort. RUNAMUCK made up ground slowly. SUN SWEEP raced evenly. NATHAN HALE had much speed for five-eighths, then quit. AFTERMATH was outrun. CHICANNA had no mishaps. .WORKING GIRL tired badlv. JAMES A. overcame crowding in the first eighth, moved to the front on the turn, saved ground, then withstood a hard drive willingly and stalled off COMPANY HALT. The latter raced forwardly under strong handling and closed determinedly to be wearing the winner down slowly at the end. SKAGERRAK improved his position on the outside and finished full of run while going wide. CARNAGE was in the first flight from the beginning and held on well to the end. GALANTERIE saved ground and bettered her position slowly. DINNER JACKET tired after going five-eighths. OLD MAIN ROAD raced evenly. DARK PILOT showed early speed. SURE SWIFT was outrun. Winner entered to be claimed for ,750. WENT TO POST 4:05. AT POST 3 minutes. Start good and slow. Won driving; second and third the same. CORNWALLIS, having good speed to race close to the leaders in the early stages, came to the outside for the final drive, rallied to punishment and was up in the final strides. RIDING HIGH, rated close to MR. DUNCANNON, responded courageously to take the lead when reaching the stretch, then fought it out stubbornly under a hard drive. MR. DUNCANNON was hustled into the lead, displayed good speed, but tired after reaching the stretch. FYAN, starting slower than usual, worked her way forward steadily and closed with good energy. SNOBBY SCAMP gained slowly in the late stages. HARD CHASE showed a good effort. STORY TIME dwelt when the start came and swerved out badly in the first sixteenth, then closed a good gap. BATTLE JACK, steadied within striking distance of the leaders while racing on the outside, was shaken up on the turn out of the back stretch, was kept under intermittent punishment and came through on the inside entering the stretch to take command and barely lasted long enough under a hard ride. BAR FLY, in the thick of contention from the beginning, made a strong bid in the last half mile and held on stoutly to the close. TEDDY WEED, in hand for five-eighths, raced to the front when ready and came out into the firmer footing when reaching the stretch, but faltered slightly right at the end. POPO, favored by improved handling, worked his way to the leaders steadily, withstood a stiff drive gamely when reaching the stretch and was up right at the end. ITSIE BITSIE moved into the lead going to the first turn, was rated in front and held on gamely when forced to a hard drive approaching the finish. SHOT AND SHELL was a stout contender from the beginning and fought jt out courageously when placed to punishment in the closing drive. JUSTA GAL came willingly in the final issue after making a wide turn into the stretch. SAND CLOUD, beginning very slowly, closed a good gap. PAPLAY was unable to menace. AIRLAP was shut off midway of the back, stretch, then recovered, but could not threaten. FLYING FEET quit badly, as did ACAUTAW. TIEMPO, rated forwardly while racing on the outside, moved to the front when reaching the final turn, was taken very wide into the stretch, but continued strongly to outstay DIAN. The latter worked his way to the leaders steadily, made a stout bid entering the stretch, but failed to stay. MARIATO gained stoutly to engage the leaders midway of the turn, then hung in the stretch drive. GRACE GRIER was weakly ridden and carried BOUNDING COUNT and ODDESA BOY out badly all through the stretch. BOUNDING COUNT was racing strongly when he was bumped and forced out in the stretch drive. ODDESA BOY was knocked back at the first turn, then circled his field to make up much ground. PRETTYLASS quit, as did EARLY BROOM. HELEN BAB showed speed for three-quarters.
