SANDY BILL was sent into command at the start, was rated along steadily, responded when roused in the stretch and held his field safe thereafter. GREY FLUFF, on the outside but well up in the early running, made a determined bid when straightened out in the stretch and finished well. FREE AGAIN saved ground on the turns, but faltered in the final sixteenth. CHIMNEY TOP showed an even effort, all the way. HARVESTING made up some ground slowly. LAST ROMANCE lacked early speed. FLYANETTA dropped back after the start and was not persevered with at the end. SAN PIETRO could not menace the leaders. PROSPECTUS improved his position steadily nearing the stretch turn, came to the outside in the final eighth and proved best in the final drive. SWIFTNESS was well up from the start, responded in the stretch, but hung in the final few yards. POST OFFICE dropped back after the breakj worked her way up on the inside and finished well. SPANISH DOT was going strongly when blocked in the final eighth and could not get through. STEPACOLA began slowly. GRISETTE showed a flash of early speed and quit. REMINISCENT gained steadily on the outside. WHISKOLO was in early trouble and could not get clear. BLACK RHAPSODY raced well. PLEA had no excuses. LA CHARITE began slowly. The latter bore out sharply rounding the first turn, improved his position steadily thereafter and responded in the stretch, but hung in the final drive. SUNPHANTOM raced close to the early pace from the start and had no mishaps.; NORTH RIDING showed high early speed while saving ground, but tired. FAIR STEIN, a trailer in the early running, made up ground fast. BISCAYNE BLUE raced evenly throughout. NOEL H. was in close quarters rounding the far turn. MAHDI quit badly in the stretch.
