1 KEENELAND TURF N0TES1 C. W. Pershall and Orville "Hodge, thoroughbred enthusiasts of Granite City, HI., arrived for a few days of sport at Keeneland and will return to their home Sunday. Pershall has several horses here in charge of jockey Tommy Root. Completely recovered from the bruises and shaking up that he received from being thrown from a two-year-old he was schooling, jockey Bobby Dotter made his return to the saddle Friday afternoon at Keeneland. George Gould registered two horses which he has stabled at the fair grounds here. The horses are the platers Kievs Pennant and Blue Fang, which he is handling for J. R. Neville. Word was received here by Frank Barton that the controversy of the contract of apprentice Lloyd Sisler has been settled in court in Hot Springs and the court decided that the boy was released from his contract with C. E. Davison. The case was tried several days ago and Sisler is in the employ of his foster father, Frank Barton. Condition books for the Delaware summer meeting arrived at Keeneland and were distributed to horsemen who contemplate -shipping there. Tom Bates has been engaged to take over the training of the four-year-old plater, Tun-bridge, for J. J. Miller. Bates has several other horses for various owners. August "Sarge" Swenke, who went to Baltimore early in the week to attend the burial of Dr. James V. Clarken, returned to Lexington and assumed charge of the A. R. Born horses, which are quartered at the trotting track. The stable will be shipped to Aurora shortly for campaigning at the Fox Valley Jockey Clubs track. Mrs. E. Haughtons Drombo, a recent winner at Keeneland, was ordered withdrawn from the second race Friday, due to ineligibility.
