DARK SWEET, on the outside while following within striking distance of the pace the opening three-eighths, moved up willingly on the outside and, responding gamely to urging, wore down DONNA LOPEZ to gain a slight lead inside the last thirty yards. DONNA LOPEZ displayed good speed, opened up daylight rearing the stretch and came again after losing command. BIG NED trailed until the last five sixteenths and closed a good gap. BROOMORIA went well up. ROIDEF failed to show speed at any stage of the running. MAJOR B. went well for a half mile then quit. SECOND RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. PRINCESS TORCH followed in close attendance of the pace of NOTORIETY, moved up on the outside to take command inside the last eighth and. kept under urging, held MAEMUTE safe. The latter, never far back, came through on the inside at the stretch turn and continued with determination to the close. NOTORIETY had good early speed although unable to cope with the closing challenges of the first two. MICHIGAN LADY finished with good energy. CAPE RACE was unable to threaten. SONGSTOP was well placed early but was pinched back when attempting to come through a narrow opening on the inside nearing the far turn. MAXINE was outrun. Overweight — Maxine. 3 pounds. HIGH IMAGE was under steadying restraint while following in close pursuit of the early pace, moved up on the outside straightening out in the stretch and, catching the leaders tiring, drew clear at the end. IRENES BOB worked her way up steadily in the last five-sixteenths and closed with good courage. MINEY MYERSON finished with good courage, also unable to threaten the leading pair in the closing drive. CAVOUR, prominent early and taken in fund when WISE DART elected to make the pace, was unable to close any ground when called upon. WISE DART displayed good speed in the pacemaking the first half mile, faltering thereafter. The others were far bark throughout. FAST EXPRESS had speed from the outset, met determined opposition from LUCKY JEAN the entire trip and outlasted her at the end. LUCKY JEAN, on the inside of the winner throughout and showing in fr.n.t brief]] between rails, fought it out courageously to the end. DEAD CALM was forwardly placed all the way and hold on willingly although unable to close any ground on the leaders under punishment. GOOD ACTOR, bothered near the far turn when CHANCER began to bear out, closed a good gap in the last three-eighths. BOOTLESS, restrained early while in near attendance of the pace, began moving up steadily on the outside in the last five sixteenths and, supplanting FINANCE from command, drew away steadily in the last three sixteenths. FINANCE displayed speed from the start, disposed of TROUPER and. meeting determined opposition from ORINOCO, held the latter safe, but was unable to go with the winner when challenged. ORINOCO was taken to the outside when reaching the back stretch, moved up willingly to dispute the command, although unable to keep the pace in the closing test. TRINA unseated her rider on the way to the post, trailed until leaving the back stretch and closed with good courage. NO SIR was never a serious factor. DELIBERATOR, unruly at the post, was quickest to begin, drew clear in the opening quarter mile, met determined opposition from ZOIC midway of the far turn, surrendered the lead to the latter after straightening out in the stretch, but. moving to the front again, was increasing his advantage slowly at the end. ZOIC, in closest pursuit irom the start, moved up determinedly to show in front in the stretch and, despite holding on tenaciously, was forced to yield ground slowly during the last seventy yards. CLOCKS, prominent and slightly reserved during the first half mile, moved up menacingly on the outside, although unable to make up any appreciable amount of ground during the last sixteenth. NATTY BOY closed some ground. MELODIST saved ground on the stretch turn. INFANTRY was unable to reach contention. KENTUCKY BLUES could not keep up. DELTA DAN outran his field to the first turn, opened up a long early lead and, steadied along under slight restraint, responded gamely when challenged in the stretch and had enough in reserve to withstand the stretch challenge of BREEZING ALONG. The latter, in closest pursuit of the pace from almost the start, responded gamely to punishment and finished slowly wearing down the winner. RED RAIDER, outpaced earlv. moved up willingly on the outside rounding the far turn and came gamely although unable to reach the "first two. SILENT SHOT came with a belated rush in the last three sixteenths. BONNIE BUZZ was unable to keep up after holding to a forward position early. GREAT BLAZE tired. Scratched— 57566Manrico, 110. SUNCRAX, unruly at the post, was started outside the stalls, outran her field to the first turn, opened up a eood early lead and held on willingly when challinged in the stretch. ESPINACA, restrained early, came stoutly in the final drive. SYNOD was unable to keep pace early, then closed a good gap. DICK MERRILL faltered after going three-quarters.
