» AMERICAN SPORTSMANS LOSS Paris, Fiance. — The American sportsman Ralph B. Strassburger, who has been staying for a few days at his stud, the Haras des Monceaux, in Normandy, paid a visit to the Haras de Varaville a few hours after his mare Columba, an eight-year-old daughter of Colorado and Gay Bird, bred by Lord Astor, and imported to France in 1935, when in foal to Sandwich, foaled on May a good bay-brown colt by Brantome. She will now be covered by Blue Skies. Unfortunately, the foal died thirty-six hours afterward — a serious loss indeed for the Phila-delphian owner. I i i i I , 7 r i - - - I
