BRANDON PRINCE followed the early pacemaker under restraint, raced wide when drawing into clear command on the second turn, was taken over sharply, blocking LUCY entering the stretch and. holding on well, lasted for a lucky win. LUCY, saving much ground, was racing strongly on the inside when blocked by BRANDON PRINCE entering the stretch, came out in the last eighth and was wearing the winner down. MR. MACK moved up slightly approaching the stretch and went evenly in the drive. KAPENA swerved while closing on his own courage. CHARMED CIRCLE quit. ESCOLEE, away slowly, could not untrack herself. RUSSIA saved ground much of the race, was placed to strong urging after about three quarters, briefly gave way to RED CHIEF in the stretch, but regained command when the latter faltered sharply, and was drawing out at the end. RED CHIEF, rated under strong reserve for three quarters, worked his way to the front on the outside, but quit badly in the last sixteenth after meeting interference. TRY BACK, slow to begin, began to move up when racing wide on the second turn, but also tired in the late stages INTRIP had no mishaps. ONYOURWAY was held safe. BESS WATERFLAG and COMET O JACK quit.
