| AURORA TURF NOTES ] Leigh Cotton, who is looking after the Greentree stables Illinois Derby entrants, Birthday and Gangplank, said that Eddie Arcaro would be out to ride Birthday on Saturday, but that no rider has been engaged for Gangplank. Porter Roberts who also rides for the Greentree Stable will remain at Churchill Downs to handle Lourdes in the Kentucky Oaks on the same day, Cotton said. Carol Bicrman, according to trainer John Bainton, is coming from Suffolk Downs to pilot the Wesley Sears Farms Xavier in the Derby. Jockey Melvin Knight left last night for Agawam where he will report to trainer Dan Hardy. Mrs. John Baintons Kelt, which was injured during the running of the seventh race at Aurora Tuesday, could not be saved and had to be destroyed. Andy Gumpere stopped off at Aurora en route from River Downs to Detroit and while here picked up a number of nominations for stakes to be run during the meeting at the Motor City track. Frank Otis, patrol judge at Aurora will leave Friday night for Detroit where he selves in a similar capacity. Chatuga and Mouse Trap were sold privately by Mis. A. M. Creech to "Butsey" Hernandez at Aurora Wednesday. ยป ,
