NAME SERIES ANNOUNCERS Baseball Commissioner Landis has named the announcers for the major networks for the approaching World Series. Bob Elson will give the description and Quin Ryan the color. Elson will be assisted by Stan Lomax in New York with Dave Driscoll handling the color in the latter city The NBC Red network will have Red Barber and Tom Manning announcing, with George Hicks and Paul Douglas doing the color. The NBC Blue chain will have Johnny OHara and George Higgins doing the play-by-play and Al Rosewcll handling the color. The Columbia staff will consist of France Laux and Bill Dyer doing the game and Mel Allen the color.
