June 8 has been set as the opening and August 5 for the closing. ... As usual, there will be no racing on Mondays. ... A distribution of 80,000 is planned with the minimum purse ,200. If better horses can be attracted, the outlay will be increased. . . . Heading the stakes programs is a pair of 0,000 events. . . . Probably a - renewal of the Hollywood Gold Cup and an affair for three-year-olds. . . . Two other features will be endowed with 5,000 each and a half dozen stakes each will have 0,000 purses. . . . Numerous other ,000 and ,500 events are planned. . . . The Woolford Farm stable is expected to be in full force at Hollywood Park next summer. ... Strong efforts will be made to lure other powerful establishments there from the East and Middle West. Nominations to all of Pimlicos autumn features except the Futurity close tonight at midnight. ... As was the case last fall, a stake-a-day program will be offered. . . . Adams in matters other than racing in the operation of the big plant. . . . Pimlicos directors will go into a huddle immediately after the close of the meeting to discuss improvement in the outmoded plant. . . . When its new leased is signed, Pimlico may be ready to begin construction of its new clubhouse and grandstand. . . . The greatest crowd yet to attend the Thoroughbred Clubs annual dinners is booked for this years when Mrs. Payne Whitney will be honored. . . . Keene-lands racing and the autumn sales will attract the largest number of visitors yet to Lexington, according to advance reservations.
