PEETOMAR, pinched back soon after the start, was taken to the outside while improving position, responded courageously to strong handling and wore down MIRA BANE in the last few strides. The latter, hard hustled to set the pace, saved ground throughout and was placed to strong pressure in the final sixteenth, but could not withstand the winner. BAND QUEEN, never far out of it, raced in the middle of the track all the way and closed strongly. WEE DUE was much used in" forcing the early pace and faltered in the drive. TRES ERRES could not keep up. ILL DO acted badly at the gate, broke slowly and was never a factor. SUE HARPEN . disposed of BAYBANE swiftly after a half mile, assumed a slight lead, but was unable to retain her margin. MISS ALMADEL began slowly, worked her way up through the field and closed a good gap. VERY MUCH tired after being prominent virtually throughout. PHANTOMS PRIDE lacked early speed. LOUS PRINCE forced the pace momentarily, got to the front and tired. KAI-FINN, away swiftly, was rushed into the lead, set the pace under extreme pressure and tired in the last eighth. PHILTR1X, never far back, lost some ground on the final turn and was tiring in the late stages. SCOTCH THISTLE saved ground and held on well. ZUMP broke slowly and was always outrun. The latter, on the outside and well up throughout, made a determined bid in the final quarter, but was not good enough. ROCKY PRINCE, taken up repeatedly when in close quarters on the rail, faltered slightly near the end. EASY BID made up some ground.
