j NORRISROYDEN AWARDED j TURF REPORTING PRIZE j BALTIMORE, Md., Nov. 10. Norris Roy-den, of the Racing Form staff, was awarded one of three prizes offered by the Maryland Jockey Club for good turf reporting and the presentation was made last night at the annual dinner of the Maryland Turf Writers Association. Murray Tynan, of the New York Herald-Tribune, and George F. T. Ryall, of the New Yorker, won the others. Roydens victory was scored for excellence in all-around writing of racing during the year, while Tynan won in his division because of his stories on the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness, Belmont Stakes, Futurity and recent match race between Seabiscuit and War Admiral. Ryall won the prize for the best story written for a magazine. Alfred Vanderbilt, who sponsored the idea of the awards, was made an honorary mem-:ber of the Maryland Turf Writers Association.
