PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT BACK TO WASHINGTON s $ HYDE PARK, N. Y., Nov. 10 President Roosevelt turned back to Washington today to revamp New Deal strategy to meet the swing back in Tuesdays elections when an appreciable Republican trend was manifest for the first time in eight years. There was no indication the President intended to abandon any of the salient points in his social and economic reform program. Sideline observers, anticipating that some of his proposals might come in for more robust opposition as a result of the off-year elections, waited to see how he would revise his attack. The chief executive left Hyde Park for the national capital early this afternoon. One of his early callers at the White House will be Democratic National Chairman James A. Farley, who has been in frequent telephonic communication with the President since Tuesday. Beginning almost immediately, Mr. Roosevelt must start a prolonged series of conferences that will determine the contents of the two messages, budget and annual, he will deliver to the newly-elected Congress next January.
