BAY MEADOWS TURF NOTES f Dr. Ira Barker Dalziel, nationally known horse dentist, came over from his home in San Francisco to treat several horses at Bay Meadows. C. E. Dale, who has eight horses here for his wife, arranged for the shipment of his charges to Tanforan. Flying Bonny, consistent son of Flying Heels and Bonny Dear, which was being pointed for the Armistice Day Handicap, fashioned for two-year-olds, has failed to train satisfactorily, so trainer T. D. Grimes entered Mask and Wig in the race. The good two-year-old Cargador was greatly improved Thursday and is making rapid progress toward recovery from the attack of "flu" which occasioned a temperature of 105. J. Casson, prominent business man of Hayward, Calif., has appointed William J. Potter trainer of the yearling son of Polvo and Minerva, which is a California-bred. Casson was a liberal purchaser at the sales held recently at Tanforan, from which he obtained several pfthe brood mares offered and which will serve as the nucleus of the breeding establishment he will conduct at Hayward. Trainer M. W. Buck, who has been visiting in the East, returned to Bay Meadows and assumed the training of the horses he has here. J. K. Houssels, prominent citizen of Las Vegas, Nev., came over for a few days of racing and will remain to witness the running of the final days program at Bay Meadows. Houssels promoted the meeting held at Phoenix, Ariz., last February and plans to stage another session at the Arizona course the early part of the coming year". Jockey Ralph Neves, who performed so well at Longacres and led the list of riders at that track, plans to resume riding at Tanforan. Miss Ruth Parton has been granted a trainers license by the California Horse Racing Board. This is the second occasion that a woman was granted the privilege of conditioning horses in this state. Miss Par-ton relieves R. Webster as trainer of Patou Bow and Prince Bow, which bear her silks in their engagements. Ted Horning, conditioner of the W. E. Boeing horses, sent part of his string to Tanforan Thursday morning. The others will be transferred to the San Bruno course next Sunday. Trainer Albert Johnson reports the two-year-old Nisquali is greatly improved after an attack jf coughing and will be ready for competition soon.
