SPECIFY acted badly at the post and started from the outside of the gate, broke quickly to take a good lead before the first turn was reached, then was taken under slight restraint to withstand a challenge from MR. BLAZE in the back stretch and opened up a good lead when called upon in the stretch, but was forced to do his best when challenged by LIGAROTI in the last eighth, responded gamely and won narrowly in a hard drive. LIGAROTI, outrun a trifle early, handled his weight well in making a strong run through the stretch and, continuing gamely after meeting with slight interference from the winner in the last eighth, was barely beaten. ADVOCATOR trailed the field for over half the distance, then came fast to catch PICCOLO in the closing strides. PICCOLO was well up in the early stages and showed a creditable ffort.-MAIN MAN lacked speed in the early stages, raced wide in the stretch and never seriously threatened. COMET II. and MR.
