MORE YEARLINGS ARE NAMED Four in Gaines Charge and Two Owned by Mrs. A. M. Creech Are Christened and Okayed.. . . NEW ORLEANS, La., Dec. 19. Practically each days mail brings the names of coming two-year-olds to horsemen whose stables are quartered at the Fair Grounds this season, thus providing some, .relief for those who submitted a flock of names for the youngsters to race under in 1939. E. H. Gaines, trainer for Mrs. M. R. Waugh, Miss B. Faulconer and other Eastern owners, announced the receipt of names for four of the yearlings under his care, while Mrs. A. M. Creech was granted monikers for the two that she has in her barn". Those under the supervision of Gaines which were bred in the East follow: Wika, br. f, by Wise Pete Apopka. Rather, br. f, by Wise Pete Brunettes Preferred. Nobs Brother, b. c, by Flag Pole Snob-ling. Negopi, br. f, by Okapi Negofille. The two "babies" belonging to Mrs. A. M. Creech are: My Red, ch. f, by American Flag Sis Owen. Infantry Maid, br. f, by Infinity Torch Maiden. With the naming of the above half dozen yearlings the list is steadily swelling and only the schooling from the starting gate remains to be completed to make the youngsters eligible for an early 1939 campaign. Breaking the yearlings from the Louisiana Gate, which is used for the making of all starts at the Fair Grounds, was begun by starter John Morrissey, and classes are conducted daily, from 8 to 9 oclock in the morning, Sundays excepted.
