MORE ARRIVALS AT HAVANA One Hundred and Thirteen Horses Now in Cuban Colony. Approximately Two Hundred More Expected Within Next Few Days Jockeys Also Check In. HAVANA, Cuba, Dec. 19. Seventeen morel horses arrived here yesterday from Shreve port, La., making the American thorough bred population in the Oriental Park stable area 113 at this early time. A couple of hundred more are expected in the next few. days. Albert Level, president of the Havana; American Racing Association, under whose auspices the fifty-two day meeting will be conducted beginning January 12, figures on having 700 steeds in all from the States bedded before the first bugle is sounded. The latest arrivals were: F. Hannons Lightly, Tugboat, Brattle, Susie Lee; H. C. Rumages Musical Jack; B. L. Perrys Iloree; G. T. Smiths Topeka Gay Bird, Penmar, Little David, Dicks Pal; Mrs. R. M. Chastains Caw Caw, Passinemup, Oro Negra; E. Orins Miss Carter, Carter Boy, Coventry Cap. The first two of a number of jockeys whd will be seen under silks at Oriental Park checked in today. They are C. W. Smith and Steve Brooks. Smith rode many winners here last winter. Brooks, an apprentice under contract to E. Orin, broke his maiden at Shreveport October 7, riding Coventry Cap to victory. He scales 90 pounds.
