CHEROKEE RED BUSY RACER NEW ORLEANS, La., Dec. 19. The busiest performer at the Louisiana Jockey Clubs track this season is the six-year-old chestnut mare, Cherokee Red, which has i made six strips to the starting gate thus far, but has failed to come down in front of . her opposition on any of these occasions. The six-year-old daughter of Cherokee-Red Head is a half-sister to Head Play, which gained considerable fame before his retirement to the stud, chiefly the memorable duel in which he engaged with Brokers Tip and was nosed out in the Kentucky Derby. However, Cherokee Red never possessed the class of her illustrious brother and has been mingling in the claiming ranks throughout her career, Cherokee Red is now the property of the western turfman, W. E. Ball, and is likely to triple her number of starters before the close of the New Orleans racing season, which reaches its climax on March 25. .
