WRENACE, steadied back of the leaders for the first three-quarters, swung to the outside to engage the leaders ncaring the stretch, closed determinedly in the stretch drive and was up in the last sixteenth. MELODY MAID, rated close to the leaders, saved ground when making her run and Finished with excellent courage on the inside. ESPINACA was prominent while racing on the outside of the leaders, rallied when placed to a drive and held on willingly to the finish. EXHORT was hurried into the lead when-reaching the back stretch, met stout opposition from LIFE GUARD and held on gamely when placed to punishments MANLY failed to improve position while racing wide. LIFE GUARD made repeated challenges in the early racing, then tired. GRAND JESTER raced on the outside throughout. GOLDEN X. was never able" to reach contention. REBEL YELL had no speed. WHAT A PAL worked her way up on the outsideand finished with a rush in the final test. JESSIE V. L. raced stoutly from the beginning and held on with good energy when placed to punishment. THAT ONE was well placed and was racing gamely in the closing drive. AMERICA FIRST, sluggish and trailing his field early, came with a bold rush in the late stages. JOANEY B. was shuffled back early and failed to threaten. DOREEN could not stay when the real test came. WULFSTAN was never a factor. JUMELUS showed a flash of early speed. MISS HAPPY broke swiftly to move to the front at once, met repeated bids from FESTIVITIES and TWO CENTS, then responded to light punishment to withstand CARLA. The latter, raced in close quarters in the first half mile, secured clear racing room in the late stages and closed willingly. POESY, forced to race on the outside after lacking early speed, finished with good energy in the final drive. TWO CENTS, close up early, engaged the winner leaving the back stretch, but failed to stay when the real test came. ARABIC could not reach the leaders at any time. DIANAPAT was never dangerous. HISTRIONIC moved up fast between horses going to the first turn to take the lead, was steadied nicely while setting a steady pace, was lightly hunched in the closing eighth and held HARP WEAVER safe. The latter was permitted to gain her best stride before being sent into contention, swung to the outside and finished with good courage. SHORT DISTANCE, unable to hold a forward position in the early racing finished gamely in the last five-sixteenths. HUNTING HOME., rated well up with the leaders, failed to rally when stoutly shaken up. END YMION was very slow to settle in stride, then failed to menace. The latter, improving his position on the outside after being outrun early, came resolutely in the closing test. WISE PRINCE, beginning slower than usual and forced wide, improved his position steadily in the last five-sixteenths. RISSA raced forwardly from the start, but was not good enough. OUR KETCHAM raced evenly and should improve. DUNADE raced strongly for five-eighths, then tired. MYTHICAL KING broke slowly, then saved ground to improve his position. CATECHISM, lacking early speed, came with good energy to make up ground steadily in the late stages. RANGE DUST had good speed to race in the first flight, but tired when the real test came. BIRDLEA sprinted into a long lead failed to withstand the winner when placed to punishment in the stretch, then tired steadily. CAUGHT was rated nicely, but failed to better his position when placed to a stout drive. OBANTAM was tardy at the break, then closed a good gap. BAILIWICK raced evenly. CONTINUITY raced strongly while going in the first flight and held on stoutly after making a strong effort on the stretch turn. BRILLIANT ROCK was under "steady urging to keep up from the start. TOWSON was prominently placed, but was not good enough. BEREFT raced evenly. STARWICK began slowly and failed to enter contention. MAJOR SWEEP was unable to threaten. PERFECT ONE was outrun.
