1 TROPICAL PARK TURF NOTES o Attendants in the parking area reported that every state in the Union was represented on opening day. Several Canadian cars also were noted. Early arrivals searched out the many new improvements of the Gables Racing Association made since the close of the spring meeting in April and were impressed by the additions to the plant. Congratulatory messages were received from all parts of the United States addressed to the Gables Racing Association on opening day. The rule rpohibiting the use of spurs on two-year-olds will be enforced during the present meeting and for the second period of racing here. Samuel C. Nuckols, veteran racing official, arrived from Versailles, Ky., and completed the roster of racing officials of the Gables Association. Phillip Bieber, who suffered injuries in New England when the hurricane struck during the fall season, was a visitor.
