1 BUYS SEAMANS CONTEACT NEW ORLEANS, La., Dec. 24. That the New England sportsman, Weston W. Adams, is determined to be well fortified with riding talent in 1939 was shown in the purchase of apprentice William Seaman from "Goldie" Mitchell at the Fair Grounds. Despite the. fact that Eddie Robart, one of the topnotch apprentices sporting the silks in New Orleans this winter, is under engagement to the Bostonian, he is providing for the future. Seaman graduated from the ranks of maidens early in the current meeting when he piloted Laura Kiev down in front, therefor having virtually a whole year in which to ply his profession as an apprentice. Robarts apprenticeship expires on July 20, which completes a year from the time that he rode his initial winner.
