TIEMPO, strongly restrained for three-quarters, bore out when called upon on the stretch turn, but held on well. CHEROKEE RED lost ground Ion the first turn, began to improve her position after five-eighths and closed fairly well, but could not threaten the leaders. MARGARET NADI dropped back after a quarter and could not improve her position thereafter. PROOF gave way after showing good speed for five-eighths. The latter, never far back and hustled along from the beginning, responded to increased pressure in the last quarter and was getting to the winner. BOBBRAX, never a great distance back, and under pressure from the beginning, closed gamely. DUSKY MAID made up ground in the final quarter. MAEPOP was slow to begin. ONLY SON raced wide. SISTER POLLY had good speed for a half nfle,, then bore out on the stretch turn and tired. WAUGH POP raced wide, but held on well to the final eighth. The latter forced the pace under a snug hold, rallied when shaken up on the stretch turn and held on gamely, but was not good enough. MISS EUROPE, well up and in hand for three-eighths, saved ground and held on fairly well in the drive. MY DESS saved ground and had no mishaps. UPHOLDER was under pressure from the beginning, but could not threaten. DOUBLE SIX lacked earlv speed and raced wide. SPEY QUEST was outrun.
