BALLYHASTE raced close up from the start, was rushed into command entering the stretch and drew away, but was bearing out slightly near the finish. MAECHANCE showed early speed, but bore out slightly rounding the stretch turn and held on well to the end. MILLTEA was well up from the start, responded in the stretch and finished well. SHEPY was away slowly, moved up on the inside and hung at the finish. GOLDEN RAPIER raced greenly and lacked speed. GAMBIT was away in a tangle. STAFF SERGEANT moved up, showed early speed and then quit. PIRATE SHIP was sent into contention with a rush and tired from early efforts. BLUE COVERT was away slowly and was outrun throughout. TRUSTWORTHY was hard ridden while racing on the inside and finished with good courage in the final eighth. BROAD TAIL made up ground steadily in the stretch. POESY lacked early speed. ROYAL TASTE faltered in the stretch. NINE-O-TWO showed an even ffort. BLUE TINTS broke in a tangle from outside the stalls. STEM-WINDER could not improve position. MR. JERSEY raced well. LADY BETHYL dropped out of it at the start. MERRY MEG had no speed. POMSEE was outrun. WHISPERER was sent into command at the start, showed speed while saving ground and held on well to the finish. FLYING LANCER showed speed and held on well to the finish. IRISH ECHO was bothered slightly rounding the far turn and came again at the finish. GENERALIS moved up on the outside under pressure entering the stretch and hung in the final drive. STEEL KNIGHT showed a good effort. DECK quit as if short. SUBSTANTIAL lacked early speed. DESPONDENT was outrun. FOXSHADE lacked speed. MUCKRAKER could not keep up. ZODIAC had no mishaps. BOOK PLATE was sent into command after the start, was rated along under steady restraint and hung in the stretch trying to stave off challenges from his stablemate, BOSTWAR. The latter was sent up fast on the outside rounding the far turn and was hard urged through the stretch, then faltered at the finish. COUNTERPOISE was bumped and stumbled going to the first turn, then recovered slowly and failed to respond when urged. GRlDINE was well up in the early stages, then faltered at the finish.
