W. PAGE STARS AT COLUMBUS The Wink Outstays Rickey Roo in "Chic" Ranke Purse at Beulah Park Track Drying Ouft COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 24. In a driving finish which lasted all during the final furlong, J. Binstocks The Wink outstayed the pacemaker, Rickey Roo, by a half length to win the "Chic" Ranke Purse, feature offering at Beulah Park this afternoon. Okla-queen raced into third place when Gay Bill gave up in the stretch. Following the running Mr. Ranke made the presentation of his trophy to J. Binstock, the owner and trainer of The Wink. With three winners to his credit, the riding of jockey W. Page was a feature. He scqred with Whoa Back, Fylfot and Jack-emma, the latter pair completed the "Daily Double." Over a heavy but drying out track, the races were contested, otherwise the condi tions were most favorable. It was ladies day and a good crowd witnessed the sport. Fylfot, Jackemma and Little Beep led for much of the trip in their respective races to eventually score by comfortable margins. Low Cuts came from behind during the run home to earn brackets in the fourth race but won with considerable to spare. It was only during the final furlong that Whoa Back succeeded in disposing of Sheriff Eugene in the fifth event.
