De-! spite the threatening weather, another bumper crowd attended the racing at Agua Caliente, home of the Baja California Jockey Club, and witnessed some of the most thrilling sport since the current meeting got under way. One of the unique happenings of the turf occurred in the third race here Sunday, when Pang, which was returned the winner, failed to attract support in the "Daily Double" pool, with the result the pay-off reverted to Bexhill, which finished second, and Eight Ball, winner of the second race. The pair returned the handsome dividend of 85.80 for the usual investment. Exciting finishes were in order for the first three races and then came the thrill of the timber toppers, which were under colors for the fourth stanza. Keeping the slate of tKe favorites clean in the steeplechase, Mrs. Nina Brennens Ten Hug, which was coupled in the betting with Napoleon, romped to another decisive win, scoring his second in as many starts. Another riding star loomed up on the horizon of turfdom when apprentice Marion Robison drove B. Thomas Pang to a narrow victory in the third race at Agua Caliente Sunday. The youngster, who has been trying vainly to graduate from the non-winning jockey ranks, finally achieved his goal and his exhibition was a brilliant one, for he handled his mount in classy fashion to land him at the line of finish a neck in advance of Bexhill, which finished second, while Gold Lace was third.
